Business & The Arts

South Side’s Business & The Arts Schools of Success provide practical training for careers in creative and professional fields. The Arts pathway offers hands-on courses in dance, music, theatre and visual arts, connecting creativity and community. The business pathway covers marketing, entrepreneurship, interior design and financial management, preparing students for careers in business and design. Both pathways equip students with the skills and experience needed for college.

Business Administration

High school students in this pathway develop practical skills in financial literacy, management and operations while building a foundation for high-earning careers across multiple industries. Coursework includes budgeting, taxes, investing and accounting, along with an understanding of how to start and run a business. The curriculum emphasizes leadership, communication, critical thinking and ethical decision-making, preparing students to effectively manage people, processes and resources in any organization.

Civic Arts
(Dance, Instrumental, Theatre, Visual, Vocal)

Students enroll in the Civic Arts pathway to blend creative passion with community impact, while developing skills in communication, leadership and public engagement. It prepares students for careers in arts management, public service or education by focusing on how art shapes public spaces and social, cultural or political dialogue. Students learn to use their artistic skills to engage with the community, such as through public art, which can enhance public spaces and strengthen neighborhoods. This pathway encourages students to see themselves as active participants in social change.

Marketing & Sales

High school students in the Marketing & Sales pathway explore the business mindset while developing skills in promotion, branding and customer engagement. Students learn core marketing concepts and strategies while strengthening critical thinking and communication skills. This pathway prepares students to understand consumer behavior, create effective marketing campaigns and apply their knowledge across industries such as finance, healthcare, technology and retail.
